Don Rosa (full name: Keno Don Hugo Rosa, probably english version of Gioachino Dante Hugo Rosa) is a former Disney comic writer and artist. He was active from 1986 to 2006 and created 87 comics in this time (a full list of his comics can be found e.g. here). Most notable is his magnum opus, the Scrooge McDuck biography The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.
One special feature of his comics is his drawing style; his drawings are full of background details and he used technical drawing tools - Don has a bachelor in Civil Engineering and has never been teached how to draw, he taught himself. He often says that his comic drawing technique is not the correct one.
He is a big Carl Barks fan - his comics motivated Don to start drawing Duck comics - in a time were Disney comics were extinct in the US. Also, he always slipped some Barks references in his comics - most notable are his hidden D.U.C.K. letters in every single one of his comis: "Dedicated to Unca Carl from Keno". Also, he created sequels to some of Barks' comics.
